DAY 3:
Friday 29 August 2008
Today we return to history, nature and culture.

First Stop: Marble Mountain - herein lies Vietnam’s historical Buddhist caves.
Visit the caves in your own time.  No 2 caves or the artefacts within are alike.  Enjoy the panoramic view of China Beach coastline from atop the mountain.

Second Stop: Take a 20 seater boat out to the sea-coconut palm paradise.  On arrival, you will be transferred onto round-bottom basket boats (3 to a basket) and be rowed around the palm groves.  Here you will hear first hand from your boat man how the Vietcongs won the war against the west.  Following basketting around, you will be returned to your 20 seater boat for lunch onboard.

Third Stop: After lunch, you will boat along to the local fishing village where you will have the opportunity to pull in your own net - hopefully you will be lucky enough to haul in your dinner.  Following this, those less faint-hearted will be allowed to race each other in a basket boat race organized by the locals.  There will be prizes, so give it a go.

Fourth Stop: No trip to Danang is complete without a visit to Hoi An, a town where time stood still.  It is a walk-about town where no automated vehicles are permitted.  Each participant will be provided with his own personalized cyclos.  The “pilot”will show you around town and take you to where you want to go - be this for sightseeing, photography or shopping for local artefacts.

Fifth Stop: By now, you should be bushed and famished.  So to end the day, you can unwind over a cold cuppa and a sumptuous dinner at the Hoi An Beach Club before we head back to Sandy Beach Resort for a good night’s rest.
