Goals
Heart valve disease is a disease for future surgeons to grapple with.  It is also a disease of Asia - we see congenital valvular malformation; we see advanced rheumatic valve pathology, we see degenerative valves - all of which appear to be dwindling in first world countries because of declining birth rates and improvements in public health.  So why should we not show the way?

With this in mind our goals are as listed:
1. This will be a meeting of minds of all surgeons treating heart valve disease in Asia.  Any surgeon with an idea to present; with a technique to demonstrate; with an issue or experience to discuss, will be most welcome to participate.  These presentations may be by way of lectures or narrated videos.  Likewise, any valve surgeon out to keep abreast with developments in valve surgery, is encouraged to attend
2. This will be the avenue to learn from each other and from key opinion leaders.  Through demonstrations and hands-on instructions in wet-labs, the finer techniques of surgery on the human heart valve will be taught.
3. This will provide opportunities for our Industry Colleagues to keep participants informed of the status of their products as well as what they have in the pipeline.  As a bonus, in listening to other industry presentations, each will be privy to what their competitors are up to.
4. This will provide Industry players with opportunities to listen to the problems faced by surgeons and could well lead to innovative developments and solutions to their dilemma.
5. This will provide an opportunity for busy surgeons to tear themselves away from their busy schedules to mingle with each other, with industry participants and with their families, in the ambience of pristine, unspoilt environmental-friendly venues.
6. This will be a meeting different from other meetings in that a full day will be set aside for all attendees to socialize and interact with the environment and with each other.
